plants get nutrients C,H,O from air and water present in the surroundings.whereas 13 nutrients are gained by the plant from the soil through roots.

plants get nutrition by three ways i.e. by water , soil and air ( carbon dioxide , hydrogen and oxygen ) and other minerals and nutrition are taken by soil and water through roots like zinc , chloride , magnesium , etc.
