velocity time graph shows variation of the velocity wrt time.
Suppose the velocity V is constant. Then the graph is a horizontal line. At any point of time T, the area enclosed is a rectangle and is = V T.
The area occupied below the curve or graph will be the distance traveled by the body in time T.
This is true what ever way the velocity changes wrt time.
