What did Mij do to the box?

Maxwell left for a meal after putting Mij in the box. The box was lined with metal sheet and Mij wasn't comfortable in it. So in its attempt to escape, Mij tore into the metal lining of the box. While doing so, he hurt himself and started bleeding. Blood had trickled and dried from the airholes.
