How does the ghost undermine the narrator's faith in his ability to write ghost stories?

The ghost tells the narrator that he does not know how to write a ghost story on his own. She had been helping him in writing stories for a long time. Without her help, he couldn't have written any good ghost stories. She tells that the highly convincing ghosts of his stories were because of inspiration from her only. In this way, the ghost undermines the narrator’s faith in his ability to write ghost stories.
