Was Caesar really ambitious? Find evidence from the play to support your answer.

Caesar was not ambitious rather he had refused the crown thrice. He enhanced the glory of Rome with his victories. He left 75 drachmas in his will to be given to every Roman. He left his gardens and property for the common use of the people.

No, Julius Caesar was not ambitious because:

1. He refused to accept the crown three times at the Lupercal Feast.
2. He also gave away all of his wealth to the people of Rome and gave all the money he had received from his conquests to the coffers of Rome.
3. He sympathized with the people and cried with them when they were in grief.
