MMR are three diseases, namely, Mumps, Measles and Rubella. These are very serious diseases. If once happened any of the disease, its not curable at all. Only one way is there which is of prevention.

Prevention means children will get the vaccination in the form of injections which will protect them from these three serious diseases.

Symtoms of Measles are cough, fever, runny nose, and a red, pinpoint rash that starts on the face and spreads to the rest of the body. If the virus infects the lungs, we can get pneumonia. Measles lead to the brain damage.

The mumps virus usually causes swelling in glands just below the ears, giving the appearance of chipmunk cheeks. Mumps can infect the testicles, that can lead to infertility. Mumps is the cause of both, inflammation of the lining of the brain and spinal cord (meningitis) and deafness.

Rubella is also known as German Measles. Its symptoms are mild rash on the face, swelling of glands behind the ears, and in some cases, swelling of the small joints and low-grade fever. Most of the children recover quickly with no lasting effects. But if a preganant woman gets rubella, then the situation may be critical.  If she's infected during the first trimester of pregnancy, there's at least a 20% chance her child will have a birth defect such as blindness, deafness, a heart defect, or mental retardation.

Therefore, its made compulsory, in all scholols, colleges, to give the vaccine of MMR to each and every student.
