Necessity is the mother of invention is a popular proverb. This proverb first appeared in English in the year 1519 in slightly different form which is "Need taught him wit," A most commonly told story which is of a thirsty crow in which thirst was the need of that crow and dropping of pebbles was his innovation. This is the most common story for this proverb. There are many such examples like to travel over a long- distance man invented car to traveling by sea he invented ships and airplanes for travelling through air there are such innumerable machine which help man to fulfil his needs thus, man goes on inventing the things as per his need.
This proverb was first used by Athenian philosopher Plato. Hee is considered as the founder of Western political philosophy. His most famous contribution is the theory of Forms, in which Plato presents a solution to the problem of universe known as Platonism is very famous.
When a necessity cannot be attained by existing means, we are naturally compelled to use our mental faculty and find ways to meet our needs. So a need or problem leads to creative efforts to solve the problem. Necessity is the mother of invention" is the famous phrase and the truth of life which means requirement encourages people to invent new things. Without inventing new things, our life would be just useless and boring with no dreams and expectations. Requirements and needs are the main cause for new inventions.
