Need a detailed explanation :

Why is ice at 273 K more effective in cooling than water at the same temperature?

you may explain it in your own words !

Cause water at 273 K has more energy than ice at same temp. ( latent heat of fusion).
So ice having less energy than water causes more effective cooling effect.
Water due to a gain of latent heat of fusion can't absorb heat as rapid as ice which has the potential to absorb heat faster.
Ice don't have any latent heat of fusion it means ice has less energy than water which have latent heat of fusion.
Now since ice is at a lower energy level than water at same temp. , ice can undergo heat exchange (absorb heat) easily as compared to water and more in amount cuz first ice will melt by absorbing heat at 273K and then absorbs more energy to increase it's temp. whereas water directly absorbs energy to increase it's temperature as it can't absorb any latent heat of fusion.
Thus ice is more effective in cooling than water at 273K.

hey dearie....

Cooling takes place when the heat is removed from the medium.
in case of ice at 0o c , it'll first take heat from the medium to convert itself into water at 0o c and then into water at higher temperatures.

see,
in short..... ice at 0o c there will be a change in phase, hence more energy
is required from the surroundings and here the vaporization will take place hence putting an cooling effect.
and water has no change in their phase to so lesser energy is required thus no cooling effect.
( 273k = 0o c)
