In Hinduism the trinity represents the Lord Brahma, the Lord Vishnu and the Lord Shiva.

Lord Brahma is the creator of the universe.
Lord Vishnu is the preserver of the universe.
Lord Shiva is the destroyer or transformer of the universe.

Lord Brahma has four heads, four hands, the prayer beads, the book, the swan, the crown, the lotus, and the beard. These are the symbols which have different meanings.

Lord Vishnu is described with the four arms,a mace, shanka and chakra. He is light blue in colour. It is believed that Lord Vishnu had come to Earth nine times to save world from distruction. He is also remembered as Lord Krishna and Rama who came to Earth to protect people.

Lord Shiva has power over death, rebirth and immortality.Lord Shiva usually have a third eye on his forehead. It symbolises Shiva's energy and power to destroy all acts of evil.He has a crescent moon on his head, wears tiger ,deer and elephant skins as well as cobra around his neck to symbolise his strength. He holds a trident in his hand which symbolises his power to punish others. He is also known as" Lord of the dance."
