Here a=3.

d =a2-a1=(-10)-3=-13.

amd this is in a A.P.
So,nTH term of the Sequence=a+(n-1)d
=3+(n-1)(-13)
=3-13n+13

=16-13n. →(1)

15TH term.

(1)→16-13(15)=16-195=(-179).

-114.

16-13n=(-114)
→-13n=(-114)-16
→-13n=-130
→13n=130
→n=130/13=10TH term.

Hope it Helps...

Leukonov.

immly: d =a2-a1=(-10)-3=-13 . could u make this more clear?
Leukonov: The common difference of an AP is the difference of the Second and first term.
Leukonov: i.e. common difference,d=second term(a2) - first term (a1)
Leukonov: or a3-a2 or a4-a3 ....
immly: got it!!
Leukonov: in general... d= (n+1)TH term - nTH term. or d=nTH term - (n-1)TH term.
Leukonov: okay. do you want to know anything else?... Feel free to ask okay. if i can i will answer it .(^_^)
