1.Maximum height is given as
H=u^2 / 2g
= 40 x 40 / 2 x 10
= 80m
net displacement of the stone will be zero as the stone returns back to its position .
while the total distance covered will be equal to
max height x 2= 80x2 = 160m

where G= gravitation constant whose value is equal to

rest all the values are given just substitute and you will get the answer
