melting point- when a solid changes into liquid on heating at atmospheric pressure is called melting point

when a solid is heated its particles gains kinetic energy and by gaining the latent heat it starts breaking its interparticle force and this heat is used up in breaking interparticle force thats why even temperature also doesnot changes in this process

melting point of ice is 0 degree

boiling point - when a liquid is heated, it changes into vapours at atmospheric pressure this process is know as boiling point

boiling point of water is 100 degree
