1. The shoot system consists stems, leaves, and the reproductive parts of the plant (flowers and fruits). The shoot system generally grows above ground, where it absorbs the light needed for photosynthesis.
2. The foliage leaf consists of three parts, namely leaf base, petiole and lamina. The leaf base is also called as hypopodium. The petiole part of the leaf is also called as mesopodium. The lamina part of the leaf is called as epipodium.
