- Divide and rule, that is to make people fight among themselves on the basis of caste, creed or any difference which put inferiority complex in the other person's brain.
2. Weaponry used by them were all advanced and modern, which made their supremacy more established and firm.
- Tipu Sultan was not in favour of such tactics from the British government and this gave rise to the conflict. Under Tipu's rule, Mysore become a leading center in agriculture and trade. Tipu Sultan was one of the biggest threats and this was the main reason the British started conflict against the Mysore state.
