radius<R> of bigger circle is=14cm

radius<r> if smaller circle=3.5cm

here, we need to divide the larger circle's area with 2 smaller circle areas

[1] so,

πR2-2πr2

π[14]2-2π[3.5]2

196π-11.75π

185.75π=the area shaded in the bigger circle                {1}  

[2]

now add the area of the smaller circle which beneath the bigger circle

πr2

π[3.5]2

11.75π                                       {2}

[3]subtract {1}and{2}

185.75π -11.75π

174π=24.8

therefore, 24.8 is the area shaded
