for example....
For checking the fertility of soil...
the fertility of the soil should be at a range of ph 7..if it is below 7 then it is acidic and if it is above 7 it is basic..so ph helps in determinin the soil fertility..if the soil is too acidic then a mild base is added..if the soil is basic then soil is treated with organic matter...
for determining the acidity of water...
the water at sea, river etc should be close to ph 7..when it falls below 5 (due to reasons like acid rain etc).it will be unable for the marine organisms to survive...
IT CAN BE ALSO USED FOR:
$ if the ph of our mouth is below 5..... there are high chances of bacterial growth in our mouth..so to prevent this we should regularly wash our mouth and brush our teeth properly by using paste (contain mild base)
$ if the ph of our stomach falls below 5..
there will be several problems such as acidity..so to prevent this we take mild base like milk of magnesia or antacids...
