Explanation:

Since it is a square all sides of the garden are equal i.e.30 m.

Given, width of the path is 1 m and we know that length of the garden is 30 m.

(i)Area of the path= 30×1=30 m.

(ii)Now to find the area of remaining portion we need length and width.

length is 30 m and width is (30-1)=29 m.

Therefore,area is 30×29 =870 m^2.

Given that to plant 1m^2 cost us 40₹.

Then for 870 m^2→870×40₹=34,800₹.
