If one of the mirror inside the periscope is broken then we can use a prism with two angles measuring 45°. putting right angled side at the corner of the periscope we can use the periscope again.

It will work much better than another.

Reason- since in a prism refraction takes place so whole of the light travelling through prism will bend hence it will give better vision than before.
