In the first diagram,the length of the side of the sector of a circle is given.

According to there radius the π is being parted by 1/3. which makes

\frac{1}{3}   \pi\times radius \\

Instead of

2\pi \times  r

because it is 1/3 of the radius .

then we have to put the values in the r or radius to get the area of each and then add them to get its total area
