What type of motion is this

The needle of a sewing machine moves up and down repeatedly at regular intervals of time. Therefore, the motion of the needle of a sewing machine can be considered as “Periodic motion”.

However, since the movement of the needle in the sewing machine is very quick, it creates a kind of vibration to the machine as it moves. Thus, it is also said to have “Rapid Vibratory Motion”.

Thank you for asking this question.

The motion of the needle of sewing machine represents the "periodic motion" as the needle repeats itself and moves up and down with the certain time interval .This happens in the case of periodic motion This is why needle of sewing is the periodic motion.
Moreover , needle of sewing machine moves so fast that it also produce the vibration due to its quickness.
Hope this will help you.
