Answer:

Work done by A and B together in 1 day = 1/8 of the work

Work done by A in 1 day = 1/12 of the work

Work done by B in 1 day = 1/8 − 1/12

= 3−2/24= 1/24

Number of days taken by B alone to do the same work

= 1/1/24=24days

Given : Neeta & Sunita can do a piece of work in 8 days & Neeta alone can do it in 12  days

To Find : how long would Sunita takes to do the same work

Solution:

 Neeta alone can do in 12  days

=> Neeta work in 1 day  = 1/12

Let say Sunita can do work  in   S days

=> Sunita 1 Day work  =  1/S

Neeta & Sunita Together 1 day work = 1/12 + 1/S

Neeta & Sunita can do a piece of work in 8 days

=> Neeta & Sunita Together 1 day work  = 1/8

Equate

=> 1/12 + 1/S  = 1/8

=> 1/S  = 1/8   - 1/12

=> 1/S  = ( 3 - 2) /24

=> 1/S = 1/24

=> S = 24

Sunita alone will take  24 days to complete work.
