aryan6414: distance = speed × time so speed = (45+36)×5/18 m/s × 8 s = 180 metre that means the total length of both the trains is 180 metre. now consider the other situation where both are going in same direction. that means the faster one will overtake the slower one so here we will subtract both the speed to get the final speed that is 45 — 36 = 9 km/ hr
