The negative effects of the political competition are as follows:

- These competitions lead to disunity among the people of the country as the political party seeks to gain more votes based on caste and religion.
- Inequality is caused among the political parties as they do not get the opportunity due to lack of access to resources.
- Political competition manipulates the law and order of free and fair elections as the political parties misuse their power and resources to win the elections.
