◆ Negative electrode vs Positive electrode -

  • Negative electrode is called cathode, positive electrode is called anode.
  • Negative electrode is connected to negative terminal of battery while positive electrode is connected to positive terminal of battery.
  • Metals are deposited at negative electrodes while gases are liberated at positive electrode during electrolysis.
  • Oxidation occurs at negative electrode whioe reduction occurs at positive electrode.
