◆ Negative electrode vs Positive electrode -
- Negative electrode is called cathode, positive electrode is called anode.
- Negative electrode is connected to negative terminal of battery while positive electrode is connected to positive terminal of battery.
- Metals are deposited at negative electrodes while gases are liberated at positive electrode during electrolysis.
- Oxidation occurs at negative electrode whioe reduction occurs at positive electrode.
