Voltaic Cell can be called as Electrochemical cell which converts chemical energy into electrical energy.
A Voltaic cell contains two electrodes with two different metals and an electrolyte solution.
Any material that can donate electrons acts as ANODE WHEREAS a metal that acts the electrons donated by anode act as CATHODE.
The more reactive metal tends to undergo oxidation and gives up electrons. It becomes Anode[negative] which is generally made up of Zinc.
Generally cathode[positive] is made up of copper and reduction reaction will occur at cathode .
