The more a nation is developed, the more it is clean. Have you ever seen an advanced country that is not clean? You won’t find these two things coexisting! Cleanliness is a state that is reached after lots of planning and creating the required infrastructure.
Take for instance the most advanced European countries such as UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Holland, etc; you will find they are known among the people of the world and national prosperity. Quite contrary to these advanced countries now take into consideration the state of developing courtiers of Asia, Africa, and Latin America. One won’t find these countries much clean. Why is this stark difference? The difference is in the mentality and attitude of people.
People living in the advanced countries in Europe, America, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, etc. give quite a high priority to cleanliness. Besides, being clean is the normal in these countries. These countries have become quite advanced in waste management infrastructure. Hence they are very clean and appealing too.
Cleanliness is considered as one of the most agreeable qualities. No wonder these countries are so much sought after. As a benefit of being clean these countries are centre of attraction for the affluent people of the world. Almost every progressive company, organization, and individual just wants to head for these countries for business or leisure, which gives rise to so many of economic activities.
These clean countries earn billions of dollars from tourism only. All the educated and highly skilled people prefer immigrating to these countries, which further adds to the growth and development of these countries. As a contrast the less clean countries lose all these benefits. So, you see how essential cleanliness is for national development!
Cleanliness also engenders excellent health as cleanliness implies absence of litter, stink, garbage, staleness which are breeding grounds of bacteria and other disease vectors. Cleanliness means enough beautification of surroundings through trees and plants which actually are oxygen and clean air generators. Thus cleanliness ensures enough health conducive environment.
Cleanliness is not just one man’s or organization’s responsibility. The entire nation will have to work for it. The Government along with the people’s cooperation must make maintaining national cleanliness the top most priority only then we can reap the benefits of being a clean country.
Once Swachh Bharat Abhiyan becomes successful, our nation will also reap the benefits as discussed in the aforementioned paragraphs.
