After charity 90% of the profit is to be divided in the ratio 4:5

Let total profit is x

Neha’s share is 4/9 of 90%x

So 4/9 of 0.9x = 1900

x = 1900 x9/0.9 x4 = Rs.4750

The total profit is 4750 .

Explanation:

Given : Neha & Megha invests in a partnership business in the ratio 4:5.

Let 4 x denotes the share of Neha and 5x denotes the share of Megha.

Since share of Neha = Rs 1900

⇒ 4x = 1900

⇒ x = 475   [Divide both sides by 4]

Then, Share of Megha = 5 (475)=Rs 2375

Profit after 10% of profit given charity =  Rs 1900+ Rs 2375= Rs4275

Let y denotes the total profit.

Then, y- 10% of y = 4275

⇒ y-0.1y=4275

⇒ (1-0.1)y =4275

⇒ 0.9y= 4275

y=\dfrac{4275}{0.9}=\dfrac{42750}{9}=4750

Hence, the total profit is 4750 .
