Given :

Devshi has 590 Rupees

Total 25 notes

Rs50 & Rs20 ⇒ 3:5

Notes of Rs50 = 3x

Notes of Rs20 = 5x

Notes of Rs10 = 25 − (3x+5x) = 25 − 8x

Amount in 50 Rupee notes ⇒ 150x

Amount in 20 Rupee notes ⇒ 100x

Amount in 10 Rupee notes ⇒ 250 - 80x

⇒150x+100x+250−80x=590

⇒250−80x=590−250

⇒170x=340

∴ , x = 2

So Deveshi has

Notes of Rs.50 = 300

Notes of Rs.20 = 200

Notes of Rs.10 =  90

GIVEN

  • Total notes = 15
  • ₹10 + ₹20 = ₹190

SOLUTION

Lets number of notes of ₹10 be x ₹20 be y

  • x + y = 15
  • 10x + 20y = 190
  • 10(15 - y) + 20y = 190
  • 150 - 10y + 20y = 190
  • 10y = 40
  • y = 4
  • x = 11

  • Number of ₹10 notes = 11
  • Number of ₹20 notes = 4
