neha walks 12 km west and 5km north. How far is she away from her initial point.

Hi,


Refer the image as shown in image neha walks 12 km west and than 5 km north.


So now she is in North West from her initial point.


So in this case we have to use Pythagoras theorem to find distance between the initial point and her final point.


So,

AB^2 + BC^2 = AC^2


:• 12^2 + 5^2 = AC^2

:• 144 + 25 = AC^2

:• AC^2 = 169

:• AC = √169

:• AC = 13
