Neha went to a 'sale' to purchase some pants and skirts. When her friend asked her
many of each she had bought, she answered, "the number of skirts are two less than
the number of pants purchased and the number of skirts is four less than four times
number of pants purchased."
Help her friend to find how many pants and skirts Neha bought

Step-by-step explanation:

let the no. of skirts be x and no. of pants be y

According to the question

x=y-2....(1)

and

x=4(y-4)....(2)

so equating one and two

y-3=4y-16

3y=13

y=13/3

and x=13/3-2=7/2
