Nehabhabhi takes two types of fiber, natural and synthetic. She does not know

which one is natural fiber and which is synthetic fiber. Which activity you will suggest

to identify the fibers?​

Materials required :

• Thread of the fibre, Candle with a flame$.$

Procedure :

1. Take the two fibres(Synthetic and natural).

2. Pull out a thread from the fibers.

3. Put the thread on the edge of the candle flame.

If the observations are :

If it smells like burning hair, the yarn is wool or silk.

If it smells like burning paper ,the yarn may be cotton,or rayon.

If the yarn melts in the flame, it is a synthetic fibre such as nylon, acrylic, etc.
