Neon shows zero electron affinity due to a stable configuration of electron. (option A)

- Electron affinity is a tendency of an atom of gaining one or more electrons to fulfill the octet and become neutral or to become a negative ion.

- But,the neon has already a fulfilled octet and that's why it belongs to a very stable atomic condition.

For this reason the Neon atom does not want to add an electron and show electron affinity which will break it's stability.
