I will cite some examples.

  1. There is a Kashmiri Masjid (Mosque) and Madarsa (Islam school) in front of the Narayanhiti Palace, the home of the Hindu Kings for about a century in the latter part of their rule!
  2. Last year, during our field trip to Butwal and Palpa, at the Khasyauli Bridge, I saw a sight that delighted me. On the right (while going west) was a Mosque and on the left was a temple.
  3. The Hindu Kings protected Buddhism since antiquity.
  4. There are Hindu temples at Swayambhunath. There is a Buddhist Bihar (Charumati Bihar) very close to the Pashupatinath. Even the Lords Pashupatinath and Budhanilkantha are also worshipped by the Buddhists.
