KATHMANDU, May 10: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is coming to Nepal on a two-day official visit on May 11-12 at the invitation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
This is his third visit to Nepal as Prime Minister after becoming the 16th Prime Minister of India, which closely follows the State Visit of Prime Minister Oli last month.
“ My visit reflects that India and personally I attach to our age-old, close and friendly ties with Nepal, “ said Modi, adding “These high-level and regular interactions reflect my government’s commitment to the ‘Neighborhood First' policy, in consonance with the motto of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’
Modi, in the message, has further said that two countries have completed several bilateral connectivity and development projects in the last few years, and have initiated transformational initiatives for the benefit of our citizens.
During the two-day visit, Modi is also scheduled to visit Janakpur and Muktinath, living testimony to the ancient and strong cultural and religious ties between the two countries.
In his tweet, Modi has also expressed commitments that India will remain a steadfast partner of the Government of Nepal to implement its vision of ‘Samriddha Nepal, Sukhi Nepali'.
Modi will also hold talks with the leaders of Nepal during his visit and is hopeful that the visit will further cement people-centric partnership with Nepal on the basis of mutual benefit, goodwill and understanding.
