Neptune has a mass that is about 17 times the mass of Earth. The distance between the Sun and Neptune is about 30.1 times the distance between the Sun and Earth. If the gravitational force between the Sun and Earth is 3.5 x 1028 N, which is closest to the force between Neptune and the Sun?

Force of gravitation between Sun and Earth

F_g = 3.5 *10^{28}

3.5 * 10^{28} = \frac{Gm_sm_e}{r^2}

Now the force between Sun and Neptune

distance is given as

r_n = 30.1*r

m_n = 17*m_e

now by the same formula as above

F = \frac{Gm_sm_n}{r_n^2}

now plug in all values

F = \frac{Gm_s*17m_e}{(30.1r)^2}

F = 3.5* 10^{28} * 0.01876 = 6.57* 10^{26} N

so above is the force due to sun on neptune.
