What is Nernst equation?

Nernst equation gives the relationship between EMF or we can say that electrode potential of the cell & concentration of the electrolytic solution.

Formula:-

 \sf{E = {E}^{\circ} - \frac{2.303RT}{nF}        logQ}

Where:-

  • R will be the gas constant.
  • E° is the standard electrode potential.
  • T will be the temperature in Kelvin.
  • F is the Faraday concept [Taken as 96500 coulomb mol^-¹.
  • While n be the gained or lost transferred electrons of the reaction.
