 Yes. It’s true that many snakes build nest. Especially Indian King Cobras build their own nests beautifully which has 2 compartments like double story. One sections for warm the eggs & another one for living. They guard their nest always. In India we can see at Bhitarkanika National Park, Odisha such kind of nests.

King Cobra is the nest building snake found in India.

king Cobra is the only snake in the world which build its nest. The primary reason to build the nest is to keep the eggs safe and secondly warm. As the King Cobra may lay up to 40 eggs at a time and thus needs their protection before hatching them.  So the King cobra built nest of loose vegetation by his head. After covering the eggs, the King Cobra rests on top of the pile.
