A network resource is defined as part of the infrastructure of a data center, including switches, routers, VLAN, DNS, and IP addresses. The system defines a series of IP/MAC address pairs; when the VM is created and activated, the management system for this VM allocates MAC/IP address pairs and ensures that each VM will be given a unique IP address. When the user opens an instance of the VM, the user can define a private network VLAN so that the VNET can be independent of the physical network .
