Government needs to provide a liberal and well-rounded school education that meets the distinct needs of students, and helps them build up skills, knowledge and values for higher studies and personal growth.
Government of Andhra Pradesh is committed to build a knowledge society and ensure quality education for all. Required reforms are in place to achieve 100% literacy by 2019 and prepare youth to serve the needs of society and the industry. Janmabhoomi: With a target to transform five thousand government schools with digital classrooms by end of his year, NRI support is solicited under Janmabhoomi Program. The project is first of its kind in India. These instructor led digital educational solution aims to improve the learning outcomes of the school. The programme makes the learning experience in classrooms exciting, meaningful and enjoyable.
Computer science education: Google in association with APSSDC is committed towards building a strong foundation for Computer Science amongst the students in Andhra Pradesh by introducing contemporary coding techniques that are fun and friendly. As part of this initiative, government is conducting trainings for Faculty Members on SCRATCH and APP INVENTOR – both developed by MIT – to help Middle School (5th to 7th Grades) and High School (8th to 10th Grades).
The Andhra Pradesh state government has selected NComputing, a provider of shared computing technology, to supply a massive computer education programme in the state, which will be co-funded by the state and central governments. The programme will provide computing access for the first time to 18 lakh school children throughout the state. Each of the 5,000 secondary schools will have a 10-seat computing lab with two desktop PCs and eight NComputing systems.
AP Skill Mission: To achieve the objective and goal of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has created a new department of Skill Entrepreneurship and Innovation to skill the workforce in the state. This is with an objective to skill 20 million people in 15 years for meeting skilled human power demands of all missions and shape AP as the skilled workforce and knowledge hub for the world.
Government is inviting best universities across the globe to set up their campuses in Amaravati to turn Andhra Pradesh into an education and knowledge hub. Private universities like SRM, VIT and Amrita Universities have already set up their campuses in the capital region. Young entrepreneurs are keen on setting up start-ups in the capital region.
With the premier academic institutes launching their branches, Andhra Pradesh will soon become a great knowledge hub.
