Answer:

Patna, 7th March 2016: The idiom “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” holds true even for the young learners. Sports, whether team-based or individual, are great for children as they provide not just physical activity, but also help build children’s self-esteem, confidence, social skills and motivate them to excel in life. In recognition of the importance of sports in a child’s life, Sesame Street Preschool, Bhagwat Nagar, Patna celebrated its Annual Sports Day.

During the fun-filled day, children along with their parents participated in various races, drills and exercises. The day started with a March Past by all students of Sesame Street Preschool including PG, Nursery, Prep-I and Prep-II classes. The students entertained the audience with a spectacular drill where they performed various exercises. Children participated in large numbers in engaging and innovative races like Banana Race, Vegetable Race, Alphabet Race, Number Race, Frog Jumping Race, Rabbit Hopping Race, Complete the Puzzle Race and Beading Race which got the crowd cheering. Kids were enthralled indulging games like the ‘Fill your basket’ and ‘Play with Shapes’ Games. At the end of the event, children invited their parents to participate in special activities like the banana eating race, 3 legged race and family race. It was exhilarating to look at little ones cheering for their parents.

Ms Mona Singh, Vice President, Sesame Schoolhouse, shares, “We at Sesame Street Preschool strongly believe that for the holistic development of a child, sports are equally important as academics. The Annual Sports Day helps children to explore their hidden sports interests as they enjoy a healthy competition with each other. More than the physical activity, such events help children build confidence and social skills and also teaches them the benefits of goal-setting and practice. We were delighted to see the enthusiasm among both parents and children as the fun-filled day came to an end.”

Sesame Street Preschool goes beyond ABCs and 123s to instil the skills of ideation, confidence, communication and collaboration – skills that are needed not just for school but for life. Such special celebrations allow each child to foster imagination, creativity, communication and collaboration. The curriculum of Sesame Street Preschool is based on over 45 years of research on how children learn, what engages them, and most importantly what ignites their desire to learn so that it becomes a lifelong habit. To nurture hungry minds, the school brings together highly trained teachers, fun, collaborative projects, and a colourful environment that activates learning- enlivened by the lovable characters of Galli Galli Sim Sim. Sesame Street Preschool aims to change the paradigm in the preschool space by making high-quality education, teaching standards and learning spaces accessible to Indian children.
