Ferry capsized of the coast of Mumbai

A ferry, carrying travellers to Mandwa, capsized on the Mumbai coast , on 25th Jan, due to being overcrowded. The ferry having the capacity of only 75 persons, was carrying about 150 passengers, twice its capacity. This incident took place in early evening, at around 5:30 pm. It was the last ferry of the day.
The casualties includes 15 women, 20 men and 6 children, aging from 5 to 14 years, ending up dead. Other survivors were rescued from the water by the lifeguards and are currently being treated at the National Hospital. Around 40 people are reported dead, due to drowning , 100 injured and 5 still remain missing. Operations to find the missing passengers are still going on.
