CITY HOSPITALS

MUMBAI , JULY 03:- Yesterday various hospitals of the city were visited to find out how they are functioning . There was a lot of difference observed between the city hospitals and the private hospitals in terms of the infrastructure , services being offered , etc

The buildings of most of the city hospitals are not conforming to international standards , and lack in good infrastructure and is in a dilapidated condition

The maintenance of majority of the city hospitals are satisfactory in terms of cleanliness and hygiene .At present there is only one hospital ( give an example )

Which has a skeletal staff of specialised doctors and paramedics which is highly inadequate to cater to the requirements of the entire area.

The poor have to either go to the nearest government hospital in mumbai or be at the mercy of private hospitals , which fleece them for ordinary ailments . The fees charged by them are exhorbitant, while the facilities offered are quite elementary

Essential facilities like CT scan and ultrasound are non existent , this often leads to complication at a later date for want of timely diagnosis . There is an urgent requirement of advanced and life saving medical equipments and facilities .

Such abysmal poor health care facilities result in valuable lives being lost , a city hospital with proper amenities be able to cater to the health of the inhabitants .

The city has a population of 8 lakhs and at present there is only one city hospital which is inadequate to safeguard the health of the people . There is therefore an urgent requirement for a proper city hospital
