✦The Newton's law of motion states three basic laws depending upon the characteristics and effect or forces. The Laws are the Newton's 1st law, Newton's 2nd law and Newton's 3rd law.

  • \large{\purple{\rm{Newton's\: 1st\: law}}} states the concept of Inertia, which is the tendency of an object to remain at its state of rest or motion until and unless compelled by any external unbalanced force. Thus, this law is also known to be Law of Inertia.
  • \large{\purple{\rm{Newton's\: 2nd\: law}}} is related with the relation of force and momentum. It states that the rate of change of momentum is directly proportional to the force and acts on the same direction as force.
  • \large{\purple{\rm{Newton's \:3rd\: law}}} is the action-reaction concept. It states that every action has its equal and opposite reaction. They act on different bodies.

✦So, according to our above laws and concepts, we can say that Newton's first law is not about action and reaction, instead it is about the Inertia. Action and Reaction are described in Newton's 3rd law of motion.

\large{\red{\rm{Newton's \: 1st\: law\: of \: motion}}} is the law of inertia and inertia are basically of three types:-

  • Inertia of rest
  • Ineria of motion
  • Inertia of Direction

\large{\dag{\purple{\rm{The \: mass\: is \:the\: \:measure \:of\: inertia. }}}}

More the mass, more is the inertia. Inertia of rest can be observed when we feel a backward while a vehicle starts. Inertia of motion can be felt when we forward when a moving vehicle stops and inertia of direction is observed when we tend to fall in any direction when a vehicle takes a sharp turn.

\large{\red{\rm{Newton's\: 2nd \: law \:of \:motion}}} is the relation of force and momentum, where they are directly proportional to each other. Mathematically we can say,

\large{\purple{\rm{F \propto \frac{\triangle p}{t}}}}

This can be further simplified to,

\large{\purple{\rm{F = ma}}}

Later we also study about the law of conservation of momentum i.e. initial momentum = final momentum.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\large{\red{\rm{Newton's \: 3rd \: law \: of \: motion}}} states that external force on a body is caused by any other body. When two objects interact, two forces are involved, one is action force and another is reaction force. To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

The answer is false as the first law of motion is that a body at rest stays at rest and a moving body stays in motion unless an external imbalanced force changes its state
