Example 1) When we stop pedalling our cycle, it moves to some distance and then stopa rather than stopping directly. It is inertia of motion
Example 2) When a vehicle suddenly moves, we tend to move backwords because our lower body moves forward but upper body doesn't . This is inertia of rest.
