"Everybody continues to be in its state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless it is compiled by some external force to change that state"

the first part is that a body at rest will remain at rest unless some external force acts on it to change its state of rest for example a book lying on a table is in the state of rest. It will remain so unless someone takes it up or move it from the position to another.

The second part is that a body in uniform motion continuous to move uniformly in a straight line unless some external force acts on it to change its state of motion.

The third part is that a body contain used to move along a straight line unless some external force acts on it to change its direction of motion for example to turn a car moving over a straight road we have to apply force on the steering wheel of the car similarly a bike cannot be made to change its straight line path on its own unless and until someone turns its handle.
