Newton's law of Gravitation :-

According to it the force of attraction between any two particles is directly proportional to product of masses of particles and is inversely proportional to the square of distance between them.

\rm F = \dfrac{GM_1M_2}{r^2}

What is Newton's Law of Gravitation?

Newton's law of universal gravitation is usually stated as that every particle attracts every other particle in the universe with a force that is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.

Mathematical Formula for Gravitational Force

F = G\frac{m1m2}{ {r}^{2} }

In the above formula F is for force , G is used for gravitational constant,m1 is mass of object 1 ,m2 is mass of object 2 and r is used for distance between centres of the masses.

More To Know

In SI units, G has the value 6.67 \times {10}^{-11}Newtons kg ^{-2} m^{2}.The direction of the gravitational force is in a straight line between the two bodies and is attractive. Thus, an apple falls from a tree because it feels the gravitational force of the Earth and is therefore subject to “gravity" and falls down on the ground.
