Newton said that anything at resy would continue to stay at rest untill and unless an external force is apllied to it. But actually everything in this unverse is in motion. Nothing is at rest .for example book lying on the table is also in motion with respect to sun. Please reply asap.

an object is said to be at rest if it is not moving with Respective to its surroundings so the concept of earth moving around the sun will not be applied here

Newton's First Law states that an object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an external force.
