MW 2005 by far. Not even a debate. Even to the biggest NFS fans MW 2012 was a big disappointment. I'd say that game was probably their lowest point in the series.

Continue: And they have barely improved since then. It seems like that was around the time they decided, they wanted to be less of a underground, arcade style racing game developer and shift towards more of a Forza MS style of gaming.
Then they found out how fast their popularity and sales tanked and tired to go back to old school style NFS. Not many people enjoy Payback and NFS 2015 had a lot of negative feedback as well.
In my opinion MW 2005 and NFS carbon was their peak and they'll never get anywhere close to that kind of greatness ever again.
