NH3, Alcohol, Glucose all are covalent compound yet they are soluble in water? how?

NH3, Alcohol, Glucose are by no means ionic, but being covalent do not preclude polarity. After all, they have a bunch of hydroxyl groups hanging off them and they are eminently compatible with water. Organic compounds with fewer than about 4 carbons per hydroxyl group will be polar enough to be soluble in water.
