Coal - Coal is mostly carbon with variable amounts of other elements; chiefly hydrogen, sulfur, oxygen, and nitrogen.

Formation - Coal is formed when dead plant matter decays into peat and is converted into coal by the heat and pressure of deep burial over millions of years.

Explanation:

coal is nothing but when you use a wooden stick for preparing food in marriages or some other times or when we use it in South India for bhogi fir in sankranti the wood gets burner and it becomes black black and it becomes coal this is called coal.
